RudeBuild version 1.4 has been released. This release adds support for Visual Studio 2013 and 2015 (community and professional editions). Additionally, the solution settings dialog got revamped. It now shows all C/C++ files that are part of the solution in a tree view, sorted by project and using the same folders as solution explorer. Each C/C++ file in the tree has a checkbox that is used to determine if the file should be included or excluded from the unity build.
You can download the latest installer from the SourceForge project page located here https://sourceforge.net/projects/rudebuild/files/
Really cool project! Thanks for making it.
Unfortunately the installer just spits errors at me and doesn’t install/uninstall properly so I can’t really try it out. Let me know if you want me to pass on any logfiles error reports.
Yes, please let me know the error message you are getting. Also please tell me which versions of Visual Studio you have installed and if you’re logged in as administrator or not when installing. Is your user folder on a network share?
Awesome!
You should upload it to the VS gallery so one can easily install it via Tools/Extensions.
Also the source code link should be switched to https://github.com/martinecker/rudebuild, didn’t even know there is a repo now.
Fixed the source code link. I don’t plan on releasing via the VS gallery at this point. But if you run VS 2015 RudeBuild installs itself into the Tools/Extension system as a VSIX and can be uninstalled from there.
btw when setting the cache path to %TEMP%\RudeBuildCache it does not complain and the project file references work but there is no such folder created.
The cache path didn’t support environment variable expansion. It does now: https://github.com/martinecker/rudebuild/commit/6b64e2eabd753f66351c45bd198b8995b1139b99
